Become a Connector
requires anyone interested in being a network Connector to go through training that will prepare you to:
- Access United Way 2-1-1 with over 800 services available for people in need.
- Learn enhanced and relational communication skills, transcending the "Hidden Rules of Class.
- Honor and respect those in need, while helping them to connect to information and services.
- Work with your faith-based leadership team to evolve the church's policy and procedures regarding the response to persons-in-need that address how to respond, maintenance of personal safety, and maximizing the person-in-needs connection to services.
- Participate in a community wide caring network of connectors that can;
- share up-to-date information through the network regarding needs, services, etc.
- network with other connectors when an immediate need is recognized to facilitate the provision of services.
- collaborate between faith-based groups to provide consolidated services or volunteer efforts.
- learn about available community services through connector breakfasts.
